London Local Guiding Day 2026 ~ save the date!

Lambeth Tour Guides Association (LTGA) is delighted to be leading FREE WALKS in Waterloo as part of this year’s Local London Guiding Day on Saturday, October 10th.

The theme for 2026 is Back to the Future: How yesterday’s London changed into the Capital of Tomorrow!

This annual event is a full day of walks delivered across the capital from six of the local London Guiding Associations with walks setting off on the hour every hour in Boroughs across London. As well as Lambeth Walks you can enjoy guided tours around Camden, Hackney, Clerkenwell & Islington, Westminster and the City of London.

Here in South London the Lambeth Tour Guides will be leading you on Lambeth: Community, Culture & Change in and around bustling Waterloo. This guided walking tour of both the better-known and the hidden-in-plain-sight parts of what was once Lambeth Marsh begins at 10am, with walks setting off each hour until the final one at 4pm.

Please come along to the York Road exit of Waterloo Underground Station to discover the stories, people and architectural treasures in this central London area, much of which lies unknown to visitors of the busy South Bank.

You can just turn up, these guided walks are free, but we recommend you book a free place to avoid disappointment if the time you prefer ends up being very busy! You can book tickets via our listing on the front page, or by visiting the Lambeth Tour Guides Association Eventbrite page. (Psst – why not give us a follow when you’re there?) If you take some fabulous pictures on the day, or you want to see what others enjoyed then tag us in your photos, you can find us @lambethguides on Instagram.

Five of the six local London Guiding Associations that are involved for LLGD 2026 – visit the LLGD.org.uk website to spot which other association will be giving free guided walks on the day!

All of the Local London Guiding Day walks are free of charge and Waterloo is really well connected to fit in another walk or two, or even three, perhaps even all five! Details of the other walks, including their meeting points and how to book can be found at the official Local London Guiding Day website.
