Not the most obvious place to tour but you’d be wrong to dismiss West Dulwich, with plenty of interest passed daily without being noticed.
The little house built by a plasterer as a showcase for his skills, the building that should have featured in Poirot (perhaps it did – I haven’t seen every episode), the pub where Thomas Harris died as reported in newspapers across the UK – but without naming him, the place where a company began trading whose brand name has become a noun and a verb (like “hoover” – but it wasn’t Hoover), a plastic plaque, a car designer’s birthplace, and more.
2 miles – about two hours
