Artists’ Footsteps: A Guided Art Tour of Stockwell

Walk where artists lived, worked, and found inspiration.

Learn about famous artists who lived in this part of Stockwell, linger on beautiful squares and meet sculptures and buildings connected to remarkable people.

This is a walking tour exploring artists and art in Stockwell. We will meet a bronze woman, pass the home of a war poet, a church that employed a renowned composer, and the birthplace and teenage
home of a whimsical artist who inspired and delighted generations of children and adults. We will visit a place of natural beauty inspired by a famous artist, who also found a temporary home in Stockwell.

Your guide is Lucia van der Drift. Lucia is a lively and knowledgeable speaker. She is a member of the Lambeth Tour Guide Association. She is a writer and facilitator of events promoting wellbeing through engagement with artworks in a gallery context. She regularly gives workshops for The National Gallery,
The Royal Collection and The Wallace Collection.

The tour will start at Stockwell Memorial Gardens (SW8 1UQ) and finish at The Printworks (SW9 0HP) on Clapham Road.
