About the event
Tour through some of Kennington’s Second World War experiences, civilian and military and see how they shape its streets and parks even today. We’ll touch on some of the hidden war time plans for The Oval, see how people adapted over the 6 years of World War and celebrated its conclusion in Europe.
Discover Kennington’s incredible world changing impact on the Second World War and the part it played in victory. This walk is 90 minutes long and will discuss themes of war, death and distress alongside bravery, everyday people and an extraordinary place. Please meet across the road directly opposite from Kennington tube station at Penryn House for a 2pm start. Our guided walk concludes at St Mark’s Churchyard.
