Always out and proud on the gay scene, protesting, marching and partying through the ‘80s and ‘90s, Clare was there, and has lived to tell you the tale. Look out for her specialist walks on the themes of 40 years of LGBT+ Pride in Lambeth and historic queer life in London.

Originally from up North she moved to London for the fresh air.

Was an active member of the Lesbian & Gay Pride committee, organising the Pride festivals in Kennington Park. She was in the room when it was decided to invite the whole of Europe to the first EuroPride event in 1992.

Still an LGBT+ community organiser and activist. She spends her time speaking out for the rights of older people with the ‘Not Going in the Care Closet’ campaign.
