David is a former chef who once worked in the kitchens of Waterloo's Union Jack Club. He lived in the staff accommodation on the 24th floor which allowed him, in the words of a famous song, to gaze on Waterloo sunset each evening.
He was, for many years, an official for Unite the Union, responsible for the rights of migrant and low paid hospitality workers including those in many of the hotels and restaurants in Lambeth.
He is also a published author in speculative fiction and a founding member of Clockhouse London Writers.
