Having lived in London all my life and in Lambeth for the past 30 years, I’m thrilled to have become an accredited Lambeth tour guide and to share my love of the fascinating area with others. With a background in art and architecture, I’ve always been interested in the built environment and all the stories it holds. In 2004 I co-founded Our Hut (www.ourhut.co.uk), an architecture education charity, and we devise and deliver projects focused on specific buildings, such as the wonderful Stockwell Bus Garage, or on an area, for both children and adults. Our project about ventilation shafts has resulted in two books on the subject, Inventive Vents: A Gazetteer of London’s Ventilation Shafts and Adventurous Vents (Particular Books, Oct 2025), co-written by me and my colleagues, Lucy Lavers and Suzanna Prizeman.
