This Bank Holiday let me take you on a lyrical guided walk from the Oval to Vauxhall Station, exploring this area of Lambeth’s many and varied connections to rock music. From stadium rock to pub rock, punk rock and reggae, 50s teddy boys, 60s divas, Rock Against Racism, and more. The Who, Faces, Mott the Hoople, Frank Zappa, Ian Dury, Don Letts, Linda Lewis, Bob Marley, Petula Clark, Wee Willie Harris, The Clash, Julie Driscoll are just some of the artists featured.
